What
kind of Warranty do Sidi boots have?
All Sidi products have a two-year from
purchase date warranty on workmanship and/or materials. Warrantee covers
the original buyer only and is not transferable. If the item in question
does fall under warranty Motonation, at its discretion, will cover the
repair or replacement of the item. Crash damage or improper motorcycle
starting procedures are NOT covered under warranty!
Motonation
reserves the right to repair or replace, at our discretion, any valid
warranty claim. All warrantee claims must be accompanied by a copy of
the original invoice from where the item was purchased.
In
addition to providing complete warranty repair or replacement for your
item Motonation also offers comprehensive repair services at reasonable
prices (cost varies with work required). This added service is helpful
when you experience a difficulty that is not covered under warranty.
A
Return Authorization Number is required in order for us to begin processing
a warranty claim or repairing your item. To obtain an RA# or discuss a
problem that you may be experiencing with your boots you may call us at
619-401-4100. You will be responsible for the cost of shipping the boots
to us: If your problem is covered under warranty Motonation will pay for
the return freight. It will be sent UPS Ground unless you request more
immediate handling. Motonation will then charge the customer for the difference
between UPS Ground and the requested handling.
What
else does Motonation sell?
Two things.
First
thing: Spidi apparel, the finest line of road and adventure apparel
in the world! From leather to textile Spidi has it all!
Second thing: Vemar helmets. Manufactured in Italy, they're the best crafted helmets in the world..
What
do I do if the boots I get don't fit perfectly?
First, make sure you're buckling them correctly. Click
here for instructions.
You can get different feet, but that's really expensive.
Here's a better way, and the method we suggest:
Keep the first set of boots, and we'll ship you a new set, so you can
compare the two.
Once you have tried both sizes and determined which is correct, then
you can call us for an RA (Return Authorization) number.
Return the pair you don't want, and we'll dump money in your credit
card account.
We can also exchange or refund your money.
Or you can keep both pair and sell the other to a buddy/enemy.
Whatever is easiest for you. We're here to help.
Do
Sidi boots come in different widths?
One does. Most Sidi boots are a "D" in width, which gives just
about everyone enough room and a comfortable fit. Some models do fit a
bit wider. The On
Road will fit bigger feet, but only up to an "E".
The newly released Way
Rain Mega is offered in EE width.
I
have REALLY big calf muscles. Do you have anything that will work?
Yup.
The Crossfire
boots. Most riders have a normal 15-17” circumference
around the largest part of their calf muscle. The Crossfire boot can accommodate
riders with larger calves easier than any other boot now available. The
Crossfire can accommodate riders with up to a 22-inch calf diameter 14
inches above from the bottom of their heel.
Does
Motonation offer any other boots that I don’t see on their web
site?
NO. What you see is what we have, right here, right now. We update our
site as much as possible, and if you check back often, you may find
something new. If it's on the website, it's in the warehouse.
Can
I special order a boot if it is not listed on your site?
Nope, sorry. Sidi Italy does not keep a stock, all boots are built to
order and with their 500 minimums per model non USA stocked colors or
sizes is just not an option.
Does
Motonation carry any boots that are not manufactured with leather?
Many of the Sidi boots are available in Lorica a synthetic material
that Sidi believes actually out performs leather in most applications.
Please note the specs on each model for its base material. Models constructed
with a Sympatex waterproof membrane and constructed with top grain leather
outer as it works best in conjunction with Sympatex.
What
is Lorica?
A small town in western Pennsylvania.
Actually, Lorica is a synthetic material used on many models of Sidi
boots. It has better abrasion protection than leather; it also stretches
a bit less over the long run.
Your
sizes are listed as metric and American men. What size should be ordered
for women?
It's been our experience that when it comes to women, get her any size
she darn well wants.
In general, women’s sizes run about 1 ½ to 2 sizes SMALLER
than men. So, if a woman wore a 9, she would be a 7 to 7 ½ in men
size, or better yet, a metric 41 in Sidi’s. Check
our size chart for comparison. See also: the sizing
charts used within the website.
Does
any dealer in my area carry Sidi boots?
We don't know...where the heck are you?
Check the dealer
listing section of our web site. There you will find
a listing of all the stocking dealers for Motonation and Sidi. If you
can’t find it there, give us a call, and we will locate a shop for
you.
How
long should it take to break in my new boots?
Break in time varies from model to model. Dirt boots will take longer
than the street boots, on the average, but with the Crosssfire boot, you
are looking at quicker break in times than a normal off road boot. On
the average, the dirt boots take around 8 rides, and the street boots
just a couple of day rides.
How
can I clean and take care of my new Sidi boots?
That’s easy, just mild soap and water. Any Sympatex model should
only be cleaned with soap and water, and be kept out of the sun when
not worn. The Force boot and all of the off road line should be cleaned
with mild soap and water, and then be treated with our waterproof cream.
If you can’t get the cream, we do recommend saddle soap or mink
oil to keep the leather soft and more waterproof. Make sure not to use
any kind of cream or saddle soap on any Sympatex boot. This will clog
the pores of the leather and keep the liner from doing its job, keeping
water out! If the boots are wet stuff them with newspaper and let them
dry at room temperature, do not place them next to a heat source!
While
riding, abrasions do occur. Check the stitching and repair as necessary
(Hint: use of a stitch protecting formula such as Shoe-Goo is highly
recommended for off road boots).
If necessary, use saddle soap to clean and protect the Lorica material
on street boots.
When drying wet boots, remove any insoles and stuff shoes with newspaper.
Do not expose SIDI boots to excessive heat!
SR sole mounting screws need regular service. After every second ride
remove these screws and grease the threads, then reinstall. In this
way they will not rust to the inserts and will always be free to be
removed when the sole needs to be changed.
How
do the sizes run?
Sidi boots come in metric sizes. For the most part they translate well
to American sizes. If you are on the border, give us a call, or drop an
email, and we WILL get you into the right size. See also: the sizing
charts used within the website.
